To make a long story short no…you can get some aftermarket headlight that are bright but the hids are a different kind of bright…the HIDs project light while headlights just throw out light all over the place..good luck

HID kits aren’t as bright as real HID lights even, so no.HID kit + Halogen housing is illegal.HID lights need to be focused with a cutoff to not blind oncoming drivers, and your stock housings don’t have that cutoff.Check the NHTSA website for proof.

no and dont waste your money on those bulbs that just say xenon or HID. if you want a true HID kit you need to get it with 2 HID bulbs and two HID ballast. we sell the complete kit and is really inexpensive. our kits are $39.99 and here is a 10% coupon code 123456

Most common problem is a wheel speed sensor that is not sending a wheel speed indication to the computer. There will be a code set in memory to help you to identify the nature of the problem. best of luck

How to tell a honda apart?

On April 5, 2012, in Education, by admin

im fixin to finance a 96 honda accord through a small dealership and on the back it usually says lx dx or ex and this one didnt. i know it has a moon roof all power with leather interior so to me it seems like the luxury package which i was thinkin its the lx…..is this right? also its a 4 door with a v6. and i was also wonderin if anyone knew what size v6 it is since i didnt get a chance to check tht out on the car and all the car spec sites are sayin four cylinders are in the hondas. plus when i test drove it on the shifter (automatic) it has D4 D3 3 2 1 what is the D4 and D3 for?

D4 & D3 are for your overdrive gears.

EX is the higher end honda naming.

2.7L v6

the EX came with aluminum wheels and was the only model with leather available.
the v6 is a 2.7L and was 1st available in ’94-’97.
cant help with the trans

Just leave it in D4 for all driving, will give you the best fuel mileage. You’ll probably never need to put it in D3.

Honda Civic can’t turn on headlights?

On April 5, 2012, in Education, by admin

I have a 2008 Honda Civic. I let someone drive my car and now I can’t turn on my headlights. When I twist the headlight nob on the left side of steering wheel, only the orange lights come on but not the head light. The high beams work but how can I make the normal headlighting work? And also, when I turn on my car, the beeping noise that goes off once I clip on the seat belt is excessively loud, how can I turn down the volume?

Should be under Factory warranty, switch could have shorted out and same beeper for both.

Doubt you’ll find any crx’s stand alone. Should be able to purchase at parts house or dealer.Do not buy used.

MDH,

The front brake calipers from model years 1984-1987 should fit your car. I double checked their part number- 45230-SB2-676, on hondapartsnow.com and they are identical for those model years.

Hope this helps!

You have a 1st generation CRX.The first gens are from 84 – 87.

Is this weard for a quote?

On April 5, 2012, in Education, by admin

I took my Honda crv in for a quote for how much is was going to cost for engine work and the machinic took the plate number, vin and wanted my name number and address too. Is that weard for address too? He said he will call tomorrow.

that is a question that you should not answer. It has nothing to do with the estimate they will give you. If you agree on the estimate and get it fixed then sure you will need to give them your address. just not on the phone for a quote.

I own a mechanic shop.

If your getting a estimate alot of computer programs will ask for all the information to give you the most accurate estimate possible. You will probably find out that the shop you took it to will not be the cheapest in town but it will probably the most accurate one. They also need all that info to be able to pull up the estimate on the computer in case you do decide to do the work…after all if the shop kept calling you back asking you questions like what size engine you have is it a Japanese or American made crv..is 2wd or 4wd would you know that information …probably not and all of that information is in the vin…also the plate number is the fastest way to pull up your information when you drive up…when you drive up the first thing they do is punch in the license plate and they can come out and greet you by your first and last name…that’s a personal touch that often the difference between keeping a customer or losing a customer. Alot of our customers just know that there’s something wrong with their car and they would like it fixed…I hope the was helpful

i think so they may need the address for paper work

i have a honda civic (1994) and it needs a new gearbox. i have found a 1999 model for sale near me (for very cheap) and i was wondering if the gearbox from that would work/fit in the 1994 model i have sitting in my garage?

If it’s from a single cam civic it will work fine. If it’s from the Si it won’t.

i want something fast obviously, would i be better off getting a B18c5? any other suggestions?
i just DONT want anything that wont fit and will have to alter the hood or anything.

or would it be better going into K series such as k20? and i want to go (NA)

If you want fast, boost it. Otherwise dont waste money on a swap. I dont think its possile to swap any honda engine into your car. I doubt a k20 swap in a 1999 Si is possible. It would take a ton of custom fab work and a ton of money. Save up for an 8th gen Si and mod that, it will be way more rewarding.

Just keep the b16a2. Type-R motor’s are cool and got the baller factor, but they are still expensive. K-Swaps have the baller factor and are a lot of fun to drive, but they cost even more than a Type-R swap. With all the money you would use on one of those swaps, you can build a b16a2 that would smash on them bad.

And to the guy saying **** about hondas, there are a lot of fast Honda’s out there. My old b18c5 ef hatch would smash on any "sports cars" and muscle cars. My current 98 GSR would smash on them too.

keep the b16a2 its the original and nothing is beter than the original

get a gsr

Ok, since you don’t want to turbocharge, you have 3 options.

First option:Sell it and buy something with a V8.Why?Because you can make 400, 500hp and more with just the engine, without needing nitrous, turbochargers or superchargers, on pump gas.Plus, you’ll have the advantage with a V8 of having something that is rear wheel drive, which is good for any kind of racing, because you have better traction with rear wheel drive than front. Not bashing, because there should be mutual respect from people who are pro V8 and people who are pro import, because frankly, we are the same, we just choose a different path.We all want to go faster. And frankly, if it weren’t for the V8 performance, import performance wouldn’t even be here.

Second option: K series swap.Yes it can be done, quite easily.HASport has engine mounts and wiring adapters (I believe) to do the swap.Yes, it’s expensive, but you gotta pay to play.A K20Z1 is 210hp stock.Camshafts, basic bolt ons, tune and you could see 240-250hp without taking the head off.Add another 10-15hp if you go all the way to individual throttle bodies.

Third Option:Dart block, stroker engine build. You can build a B series engine with off the shelf parts that is 2.1L, revs to over 9500rpm.The best part? With a standard plenum style intake manifold, you can make 265-270hp and 180+ft-lb torque on pump 91 octane gas.ITBs would raise that another 15-20hp.Granted the Si is heavy in comparison at something like 2800-2900lbs, so it wouldn’t be as fast as the same engine in, say, a 92 hatch, but it would still be plenty fast.

Actually , i have old pulsar 150 2006 model, so i want to install piston for high performance & powerin my bike , can u suggest me if i insatll piston then its effect my engine ,&fuel consume more ………. average will get more or less ?????????

installing a piston will do all good for your bike.but yup fuel consumption will be more, average will be less.but power and performance will increase

Your bike already HAS pistons, so I’m assuming you’re asking about high compression / high performance pistons. If you do this, your bike is going to need higher octane fuel to run properly, which is more expensive, also, yes, it will burn more fuel, so your average fuel economy will decrease.

i got 2.5 inch piping and a magnaflow muffler put on my honda accord a few weeks ago. I am very happy with the way it sounds around 1-2.5 rpms but then once it gets higher in rpms it starts to sound really farty. any suggestions on what i could do to keep my deep sound i like in the low rpms but get rid of that farty sound in the high rpms? thanks

Not all engines sound the same.

Unfortunately, you have a Honda, which by nature will always sound like a lawnmower at high RPM.

If you want a deeper tone, buy a Subaru.

Look into a silencer for your exhaust online or at the shop where you got it. There’s not much you can actually do to it to lessen the "fartiness." There are many after market exhaust systems though and you should do some research and look at some youtube vids until you hear the sound you want. There are exhausts out there that sound nice and deep throughout the rev range for 4 cylinders vehicles you just gotta look for them. Until then keep your revs down…

Such is the noise of a 4 cylinder. No such thing as a deep sound. More an experimentation with various mufflers for different sounds or even better is "no sound at all" as in the factory muffler.

Check the exhaust pipe it might have a hole in it and it causes it so sound farti

Not much other than keep the revs down. That’s the nature of 4 and 6 cylinder engines — they sound "farty" at high RPMs.

Get a better exhaust, check out the sounds first on you tube
